Any age is the right age provided your gum health is fairly good. A child, teen or an Adult all are right candidates for availing the benefits of this treatment.

• Depends from case to case • Cases with buck teeth / crowded teeth may need removal of teeth• Cases with spaces in between teeth usually do not require any tooth removal
During the entire course of treatment you have to avoid eating hard and sticky food like: • Chikki, chakli, Hard laddoos, wafers, banana chips • Pop corn, pizza, grilled sandwich • Dry fruits, biscuits, khari, toast • Carrot, cucumber • Guava • Bhelpuri , sev puri , pani puri • Base of samosa • Perk , munch, kit kat, five star, fruit & nut, éclairs, Chewing gum • Carbonated & aerated drinks (coke, pepsi, fanta) • Khakras, hard puri’s, roasted papad. • Badami halwa, ice cream with nuts & cone, waffle. • Peanuts, roasted grams • Pan masala, supari (betel nuts) etc. • Meat with bone.
• Chapati, soft puri, roti, pav, bread, plain cake, etc.• All boiled and curry vegetables • All types of pulses, dal etc. • Rice, biryani, pulao etc. • Idli, vada, dosa, burger • Boneless meat, fish and egg in any form • Coconut water, fruit juice and milkshakes • All fruits without seeds • Plain chocolates like Cadburys Dairy milk, plain ice cream • Biscuit, Khari, toast dipped in tea, coffee or milk • Poha, Shira, Upma • Plain ice cream
• There are special brushes to be used during the treatment• Brushing technique would be demonstrated at the start of the treatment• Brushing minimum twice or thrice a day is advisable• Rinsing vigorously with water after every meal is mandatory• Fluoride mouthwash can to be used to prevent tooth decay
• There is some discomfort for initial first week after which you get used to the braces • We will prescribe an anesthetic gel in case of any soreness and painkillers in case of any pain
• Braces are stuck with a resin adhesive cement to the tooth surface • After the treatment the braces are removed, the residual adhesive is removed and the teeth are cleaned and polished
• Treatment time varies from case to case • Mild correction may take up to 6 months • Severe correction may take up to 2 years
• Severe jaw problems might require Orthognathic (jaw) surgery • 90 % of cases do not require surgery • Minor oral surgeries like frenectomy or exposure of impacted tooth might be required if necessary
• Braces are fixed on the teeth at the first appointment which takes around 2 hours • After this you will have to visit the clinic at monthly intervals for a 20 mins appointment during which we will change the wires and check the progress of the treatment
The cost of the treatment depends on 2 factors: ◦ Severity of the problem ◦ Type of braces we choose
• Retainers hold the teeth in their corrected position • We prefer fixed retainers over removable plates • Fixed retainers are more aesthetic, comfortable and reliable for prevention of relapse • In some cases combination of fixed and removable retainers may be used
